CRIME ALERT (Update)

08-03-2017

During the early morning hours of Thursday August 3, 2017 multiple cars, in Double Oak, were burglarized and an attempt was made to enter a home owner’s residence.

A resident in the 500 blk. of Cross Timbers Dr., Double Oak reported that their vehicles had been entered, without permission, by an unknown person(s) who rifled through the contents of four out of six cars and didn’t take anything.

A resident in the 400 blk. of Cross Timbers Dr., Double Oak reported that their vehicles had been entered, without permission, by an unknown person(s) who rifled through the contents of four vehicles and took currency, a credit card and a wallet.

A resident in the 400 blk. of Cross Timbers Dr., Double Oak reported that their vehicles had been entered, without permission, by an unknown person(s) who rifled through the contents of their glove boxes. Missing items include cash, debit cards and a wallet.

A resident in the 100 blk. of Tanglewood Dr., Double Oak reported that an unknown person(s) entered their vehicle and removed a wallet and credit cards.

A resident in the 100 blk. of Tanglewood Dr., Double Oak reported hearing an unknown person prying on a bedroom window. The witness yelled, turned on lights and called for the police. The resident ran outside but the subject had fled the scene. Further investigation confirmed that the window screen had been pried and removed from the house. No vehicle was observed by the witness.

We have recovered one wallet, multiple credit cards and a headset. We’ve found the owner of the wallet and credit cards. If you’re the owner of the headset please contact the department.

We have developed information that there were two adult male suspects wearing baggy, dark colored clothing and carrying backpacks. It appears that the suspects traveled on foot from Cross Timbers to Tanglewood looking for open vehicles and residences. Based upon available information we believe the offenses happened between 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. As always please place valuable items inside your home, lock vehicle and residential doors and contact 9-1-1 if you observe any suspicious behavior.

Below are still captures from a local discount store where Complainant credit cards were used within hours of the offenses. If you recognize either of the suspects please contact the Double Oak Police Department.

We are attempting to obtain pictures of a suspect vehicle. It is believed that subjects were using an older dark color Dodge Sebring (or similar type vehicle).
