Annual DOVFD July 4th Parade and Picnic   The DOVFD is happy to host the 37th Annual July 4th Parade and Picnic. The event will kick-off at 9:00 AM with the parade starting on Simmons Road to Cross Timbers Drive ending at John B. Wright Park. Participation in the parade is free and open to the public. The Picnic will start upon completion of the parade, typically around 10:00. As in past years, volunteers are needed to ensure that the event is a success. The demolition contractor has notified the town that the equipment should arrive today on site and work may begin today. CRIME ALERT 06-08-2017 On Thursday June 8, 2017 a resident in the 100 blk. of Thornhill Circle, Double Oak reported that their garage had been entered and two vehicles had been burglarized. Further investigation revealed that sometime between Wednesday evening and early Thursday morning an unknown person, or persons, had entered an open garage without permission and removed a laptop from one unlocked vehicle and a cellphone from another unlocked vehicle.
