News from Town Hall September 2015 Ted Gruenloh appointed to vacant council seat The Town of Double Oak is pleased to announce the appointment of Ted Gruenloh to fill the open council seat that was created when John Maynor resigned due to moving out of town. News from Town Hall February 2015 At our January 19th council meeting, a new business item was placed on the agenda to introduce and discuss Local Sales Tax Options. Double Oak’s current sales tax rate is 7.25%. Double Oak, like most cities in Texas, imposes a Regular Sales Tax of 1%. The state allows Texas municipalities, with voter approval, to impose additional sales taxes in varying amounts of up to 1%.
