February 2015

02-01-2015 12:17 a.m. – Street Blockage – Justin Rd., Bartonville – A motorist slid off the road in rainy weather and flattened all four tires.  DOPD assisted with investigation.

02-02-2015  11:42 p.m. – Assist Agency (Traffic Stop) – 600 blk. S. Hwy 377, Argyle – DOPD was cover unit for traffic investigation and issuance of citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

02-03-2015  12:58 a.m. – Animal Bite – 200 blk. Simmons Rd., Double Oak – A resident suffered a bite from his dog and was transported to the hospital.  Animal control was notified.

02-03-2015  7:16 p.m. – Animal Bite – 200 blk. Whispering Oaks Dr., Double Oak – A visiting child was bit by a family dog and transported to the hospital.  Animal control was notified.

02-03-2015  10:34 p.m. – Lost Dog – 6000 blk. Kings Rd., Double Oak – Patrol Officer observed a resident carrying a flashlight and searching for his Yorkie dog.  Officer located the dog in the backyard of a residence in the 100blk. of N. Woodland, Trl.

02-04-2015  1:03 p.m. – Medical Call – 100 blk. Cedarcrest Ln., Double Oak – Assisted a resident who was later transported to the hospital.

02-04-2015  1:26 p.m. – Found Dog – 400 blk. Simmons Rd., Double Oak – Officer found a known dog at large and returned it to a backyard.

02-04-2015  10:41 p.m. – Road Blockage – McMakin Rd., Bartonville – A passing motorist reported a truck stopped in the roadway with no lights on and no one around.  Upon arrival Officer found a stranded motorist who needed fuel and jumper cables.   Officer assisted the motorist in getting his vehicle started and down the road without incident.

02-05-2015  6:51 p.m. – Assist Officer (Bartonville) – 800 blk. Porter Rd., Bartonville – Double Oak provided a cover officer during the conduct of a traffic stop in Bartonville.

02-05-2015  7:37 p.m. – Medical Call – 200 blk. Timberleaf, Double Oak – Assisted the FD at location on a subject requiring medical treatment and transport to the hospital.

02-06-2015  9:54 a.m. – Animal Complaint – 100 blk. Chapel Hill Dr. – Officer made numerous attempts to contact the complainant without success.

02-06-2015  10:06 p.m. – Open Door – 7100 blk. Mitchell Ct., Lantana – Sheriff’s Deputy located an unsecure house.  DOPD assisted with securing the perimeter while deputies searched the model home for criminal activity.

02-07-2015  12:24 a.m. – Assist Agency (Bartonville) – 500 blk. Porter Rd., Bartonville – Double Oak Officer assisted Bartonville with a traffic stop investigation that resulted in the arrest of an adult female for multiple agency warrants, recovery of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, empty syringes, one loaded syringe and marijuana.  Subject was transported to Denton County Jail.

02-07-2015  9:11 a.m. – Disturbance – 300 Brown Cliff Ct., Double Oak – Minor disturbance that was verbal in nature regarding civil court issues.  No offense committed.

02-07-2015  7:01 p.m. – Fraud – 100 blk. Trailing Oaks Dr., Double Oak – Unknown person fraudulently identified themselves as an employee of Flower Mound attempting to collect warrant money for the police department.  Resident contacted Flower Mound Police Department and discovered that the caller was engaged in a scam.

02-08-2015  2:41 p.m. – Found Property – 300 blk. Waketon Rd., Double Oak – A witness found a cellphone and turned it over to the on-duty officer.  Officer located the owner and returned the cellphone.

02-09-2015  12:04 a.m. – Road Blockage – 100 blk. Simmons Rd., Double Oak – A bucket of paint was found in the roadway near Simmons and FM407.  Item was removed by the officer.

02-09-2015  11:57 a.m. – Found Dog – 400 blk. Simmons Rd., Double Oak – Officer found a dog with an apparent broken lead / leash.  Animal control was notified and the officer did locate and notify the owner.

02-09-2015  9:09 p.m. – Accident – Chinn Chapel Rd. at FM 407 – Officer drove up on a minor accident scene involving two vehicles.

02-11-2015  9:33 p.m. – Alarm – 100 blk. Twin Lakes Dr., Double Oak – Accidental activation by a resident.

02-11-2015  7:01 p.m. – Disturbance – 100 blk. Twin Lakes Dr., Double Oak – Report of fighting between two juvenile males.  Neither involved party wishes to prosecute and parents are aware and handling the outcome.

02-12-2015  1:06 p.m. – Motorist Assist – Waketon Rd., Chinn Chapel Rd., Double Oak – Officer provided traffic control for a motorist who had run out of fuel.

02-13-2015  4:42 p.m. – Traffic Complaint – 800 blk. Cross Timbers Dr., Double Oak – Unlicensed, underage driver stopped for operating a go-kart on a public roadway.  Parents were notified.

02-13-2015  9:32 p.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 100 blk. Meadowknoll, Double Oak – A caller reported a vehicle in the roadway, on Meadowknoll, with several people entering and exiting the car.  Caller thought their behavior was suspicious due to the time of day and that they weren’t approaching any houses as if they were visiting.    Officer checked the area and found the vehicle but not the people.

02-13-2015  10:09 p.m. – Drug Paraphernalia – 500 blk. Kings Rd., Double Oak – While conducting a traffic stop officer smelled marijuana emanating from the violator’s vehicle.  A search was conducted, evidence found and the person was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

02-14-2015  11:19 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle – 8100 blk. FM 407, Double Oak – While on patrol officer observed an unknown vehicle parked behind a church.  Further investigation determined that is was occupied by teenagers.  No offense was committed.

02-15-2015  3:40 p.m. – Alarm – 100 blk. Meadowknoll Dr., Double Oak – Officer responded to an alarm call and found the front door unsecure.  Flower Mound Police helped Double Oak conduct a building search.  Officers did not find any other signs of possible criminal activity.

02-15-2015  4:20 p.m. – Burglary In Progress – 700 blk. Knob Hill Ct., Argyle – A resident reported that their house had been broken into and that they had barricaded themselves in a closet.  Responding officers searched the home and met with the resident.  Further investigation revealed that high winds and pet dogs were probably the source of the noise.

02-15-2015  10:31 p.m. – Assist Agency (Argyle) – 800 blk. N. Hwy. 377, Argyle – Argyle officer, who had made a traffic stop, asked for assistance with a person who was wanted out of multiple agencies.

02-15-2015  11:18 p.m. – Road Blockage – 2600 blk. FM 407, Bartonville – Officer removed a large catering tray and equipment that had fallen on to the roadway and were

02-16-2015  2:50 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle – 100 blk. Double Oaks Dr., Double Oak – A resident reported an unknown, old, rusty, blue or grey minivan driving through their neighborhood.  Officers did not locate the vehicle.

02-17-2015  8:18 p.m. – Animal at Large – 400 blk. Simmons Rd., Double Oak – An officer on patrol observed a vehicle coming to a stop in the middle of the road to avoid hitting a resident’s dog.  Officer made contact with the dog owner and issued a citation as this was not the first time the dog had left the property and previous warnings had not worked.

02-17-2015  12:10 p.m. – Missing Juvenile – 300 blk. Waketon Rd., Double Oak – A resident reported that their seventeen year old child had left home without permission.

02-17-2015  12:50 p.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 100 blk. Meadowknoll, Double Oak – An adult male asked workers at a residence if the dogs in a back yard were for sale.  Of note the dogs were not visible from the public roadway and are mixed breed.  Subject was gone before officer arrival.

02-18-2015  10:02 p.m – Welfare Check – 300 blk. Wooded Ct., Argyle – Argyle and DOPD officers responded to a call regarding a distraught individual and a disturbance.  Subject involved was transported to the hospital.

02-18-2015  10:21 p.m. – Disturbance – 1100 blk. Brasher Dr., Bartonville – Double Oak assisted with an assault investigation.

02-19-2015  1:25 a.m. – Alarm – 100 blk. Thornhill Circle, Double Oak – Officer contacted the homeowner and determined that the alarm was false.

02-19-2015  2:54 p.m. – Motorist Assist – 7700 blk. FM 407, Double Oak – Officers helped a motorist remove their stalled vehicle from the roadway.

02-20-2015  2:44 a.m. – Loose Horses – 300 blk. E. Carruth, Double Oak – Double Oak Officer, with the assistance of a Flower Mound Officer herded two loose horses away from traffic on FM407.  With the help of a horse knowledgeable resident the horses were corralled and their owners located.

02-20-2015  9:43 p.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 200 blk. S. Carruth Ln., Double Oak – Unknown person rang callers door bell and left.  Officer was unable to locate the subject.

02-20-2015  10:51 p.m. – Juvenile Complaint – 1600 blk. South Gibbons Rd., Bartonville – Double Oak Officer assisted Bartonville with investigation into underage drinking.  A citation was issued and parents were called to the scene for six juveniles.

02-23-2015  11:07 a.m. – Traffic Complaint – 400 blk. Cross Timbers Dr., Double Oak – A witness reported observing an ATV being operated by a juvenile driving circles on the icy roadway.  Officer was unable to locate the subject.

02-23-2015  3:53 p.m. – Fraud – 100 blk. Meadowknoll, Double Oak – A resident reported that their personally identifiable information had been used to report a fraudulent tax return to obtain a refund.  Investigation is ongoing.
