10-01-2014 9:46 p.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 100 blk. Whistling Duck Ln., Double Oak – Officer on patrol found an unsecure vehicle trunk. Owner was notified and no crime was detected.

10-02-2014 2:56 p.m. – Welfare Concern – 300 blk. E. Carruth, Double Oak – At the request of another law enforcement agency Officers searched for a missing Alzheimer’s patient. Missing person was located by another party and returned home.

10-03-2014 2:39 a.m. – Found Dog – 3900 blk. Chapel Ct., Double Oak – Officer on patrol found a lost dog and contacted the owner via a telephone number on its collar. Dog was returned to its family.

10-03-2014 1:38 p.m. – Theft – 100 blk. Valley View Trl., Double Oak – A resident reported the theft of clothing, personal effects and a laptop computer.

10-04-2014 1:42 a.m. – Open Door – 8100 blk. Justin Rd., Double Oak – While on patrol a Double Oak officer located an unsecure building. DOPD searched the building with another officer and contacted the property manager who secured the open door.

10-04-2014 2:20 a.m. – Open Door – 8300 blk. Justin Rd., Double Oak – While conducting building checks a door was found unlocked. The owner was contacted to secure the business.

10-04-2014 8:24 a.m. – Accident – 5500 blk. Chinn Chapel Ext., Flower Mound – Double Oak officer drove up on a motorcycle accident that had occurred in the roundabout. Officer remained with the rider until Flower Mound PD and EMS arrived.

10-04-2014 9:08 a.m. – Lost Dog – 500 blk. Kings Rd., Double Oak – Officer located a lost dog and contacted the owners through a number on its collar.

10-04-2014 11:35 p.m. – Criminal Mischief – 100 blk. Twin Lakes Dr., Double Oak – A motorist reported unknown juveniles throwing a pumpkin at his car.

10-05-2014 12:55 a.m. – Loud Noise – 400 blk. Whispering Oaks Dr., Double Oak – A resident reported a loud party. Officer made contact with the homeowners who said they would keep the noise down.

10-05-2014 2:43 a.m. – Parking Complaint – 300 blk. Whispering Oaks Dr., Double Oak – Concerns reported about improperly parked cars. Cars were gone before the officer’s arrival.

10-05-2014 3:40 a.m. – Road Blockage – 100 blk. Chapel Hill Dr., Double Oak – Officer on patrol found a Porsche Panamera parked in the middle of the roadway. Officer had Flower Mound PD attempt to contact the owner of the vehicle. Vehicle was towed as it was a road hazard.

10-05-2014 7:51 p.m. – Assist Agency – 600 blk. Chinn Chapel Rd., Copper Canyon – Officer assisted Denton County Deputy with a welfare concern.

10-06-2014 7:07 p.m. – Assist Agency / Disturbance / Civil Standby – 600 blk. Chinn Chapel Rd., Copper Canyon – Double Oak Officers responded to a disturbance call and assisted a resident who wanted to leave the residence but was being blocked in by another occupant. Officers stood by while personal items were gathered and then the caller departed.

10-06-2014 9:11 p.m. – Assist Agency / Disturbance – 8700 blk. Cherry Lee Ln., Lantana – Double Oak Officers responded to a disturbance call at the request of Denton County. One of the subjects involved in the disturbance had left prior to officer arrival. Officers left upon arrival of Sheriff’s Deputies.

10-07-2014 3:41 a.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 100 blk. Royal Oaks Dr., Double Oak – A resident reported their vehicle hazard lights, for no apparent reason, had activated on their SUV.   It was determined that the vehicle doors had also been left unlocked. Nothing appeared to be missing.

10-07-2014 5:04 a.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 1200 blk. FM 407, Corral City – Officer observed an adult male parked across three parking spaces and sleeping. Officer notified North Lake PD. After speaking with the motorist it was determined that he was just tired.

10-07-2014 10:23 p.m. – Lost Dog – 200 blk. Trailing Oaks Dr., Double Oak – A resident reported their black lab, wearing a blue collar, was missing. Officers passed the information on to follow up shifts and provided information about local animal control offices.

10-07-2014 10:26 p.m. – Shots Fired – 3600 blk. Justin Rd., Double Oak – Reporting Officer heard two gunshots in the vicinity of Justin Rd. and Chinn Chapel. Officers were unable to locate the source of the gunshots but think they came from the east behind a sporting goods store. Workers at a local restaurant also heard the suspected gunshots. The source of the shots was not located.

10-08-2014 12:28 a.m. – Prowler – 2800 blk. Britt Dr., Denton County – DOPD assisted deputies in searching for a reported prowler. The reporting person reported tapping at their window. No suspects were found.

10-08-2014 8:36 p.m. – Alarm(s) – 7000 blk. Mitchell Ct., Lantana – DOPD assisted the Sheriff’s Department with searching multiple houses, where their alarms had gone off, and the house was unlocked.

10-10-2014 6:57 p.m. – Alarm – 200 blk. Oak Trail, Double Oak – A homeowner had an officer search their house after the alarm was triggered.

10-12-2014 12:16 a.m. – Welfare Concern – Eagle Parkway, Flower Mound – A Double Oak juvenile was found on foot walking away from home. His parents were concerned with his welfare and he was returned by the responding officer.

10-12-2014 1:25 a.m. – Conduct Indicating Need For Supervision – 400 blk. Kings Rd., Double Oak – Reporting Officer observed two young teenagers crossing the road early in the morning. Officer made contact with a fourteen year old female and notified her parents (who arrived at the scene and took custody of their daughter). The young teen male ran off from the officer and was not found.

10-12-2014 9:19 p.m. – Abandoned Vehicle – 8300 blk. FM 407, Double Oak – Officer located a vehicle parked inside the entryway of a business. Vehicle was later discovered to have moved from the location.

10-13-2014 8:34 a.m. – Alarm – 100 blk. Creek Side Dr., Double Oak – Resident reported they were having problems turning their alarm off.

10-13-2014 10:50 a.m. – Medical Call – 300 blk. Oak Trail, Double Oak – A worker for a party rental company was injured when a dolly full of wood fell on him off the lift gate of a truck. Subject was transported to the hospital.

10-13-2014 10:11 p.m. – Suspicious Activity – 7700 blk. Justin Rd., Double Oak – Reporting person heard noises coming from their garage. Officer could detect no signs of criminal activity.

10-15-2014 2:27 p.m. – 9-1-1 Open Line – 100 blk. McMakin Rd., Double Oak – Worker accidentally dialed 9-1-1 and left phone in pocket.

10-15-2014 10:46 p.m. – Arrest – 8300 blk. FM 407, Double Oak – Officer stopped motorist for speeding. Upon further investigation it was determined that the adult male motorist, 49 years of age, was wanted out of Dallas County for an Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon warrant. Subject was taken into custody and transported to Denton County jail.

10-15-2014 11:45 p.m. – Suspicious Person – 200 blk. Meadowknoll, Double Oak – A caller reported observing a slender male wearing dark colored clothing ducking and laying down when vehicles passed by his location. Officer was unable to locate the subject.

10-17-2014 2:36 p.m. – Theft – 100 blk. Knob Hill, Double Oak – Apple iPhone delivered to residence and then stolen.

10-18-2014 2:31 p.m. – Arrest – 700 blk. Simmons, Double Oak – Officer stopped a vehicle for an expired inspection. Adult male motorist was wanted for a traffic warrant out of Carrollton Police Department. Subject was taken into custody and transported to Flower Mound jail.

10-19-2014 12:36 a.m. – Disturbance – 8400 blk. Marsh St., Lantana – Family members fighting. Disturbance quelled by Sheriff’s Deputies.

10-20-2014 12:10 a.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 200 blk. Oak Trail, Double Oak – Unknown person rang the doorbell. Officer was unable to find the subject.

10-20-2014 10:53 a.m. – Alarm – 100 blk. Chapel Hill Dr., Double Oak.

10-23-2014 2:33 p.m. – Reckless Driver – 8100 blk. FM 407, Double Oak – A motorist reported almost having been struck by another driver. They followed the reckless driver, alleging that they almost struck a work crew, into Double Oak. Officers observed the motorist talking on a cellphone and flinging their arms in the air. Upon stopping the driver they determined that the drive was crying. Officers did not detect any signs of intoxication and released the driver after they calmed down.

10-23-2014 4:51 p.m. – Ordinance Violation – 200 blk. Lake Trail Dr., Double Oak – Two persons selling door to door, without a Town permit, were reported by a resident. Subjects thought they were in Lewisville and were issued warning citations.

10-24-2014 7:24 p.m. – Animal Complaint – 300 blk. S. Carruth Ln., Double Oak – Officer assisted with removal of a snake from a back porch after animal control was unavailable.

10-25-2014 2:57 a.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 8100 blk. FM407, Double Oak – Officers found an unsecure business while on patrol. Contact was made with the alarm company, building was searched (no sign of criminal activity) and the door was secured.

10-25-2014 11:27 p.m. – Suspicious Circumstances – 200 blk. Meadowknoll, Double Oak – Officer on patrol observed a parked silver sports utility vehicle with two persons sitting in the back seat. The male and female occupant claimed to have just been talking despite the male being partially dressed. Reporting Officer reminded the subjects of possible consequences regarding personal conduct and both subjects departed the location.

10-27-2014 2:46 p.m.– Accident – 7100 blk. FM407, Denton County – Officer notified about  motorcyclist who had been bumped off of FM407.

Officer assisted Denton County Deputy with investigation.

10-28-2014 11:00 p.m.– Fire – 8200 blk. Justin Rd., Copper Canyon – Officers located a fire on the north side of FM407 and requested a fire department response.  Officers remained on scene until firefighter arrival.

 10-29-2014  3:18 p.m. – Solicitor Complaint – 100 blk. Forest Oak Ct., Double Oak – Two vendors going door to door attempting to sell windows without a Double Oak vendor permit.  Sellers had vendor permits for two other cities and were provided instructions on how to obtain a permit for Double Oak.

 10-29-2014  11:09 p.m. – Vehicle Racing / Speeding – Hawk Rd., Double Oak – Residents reported squealing tires and possible vehicle racing in the vicinity of Hawk Rd. Officer was unable to locate the offending motorists.

 10-30-2014  9:48 p.m. – Conduct Indicating Need for Supervision – 300 blk. Waketon Rd., Double Oak – Officer found a lost teenager walking through town.  A parent was contacted who reported to the police station and picked up their child.

10-31-2014  11:52 p.m. – Agency Assist – 400 blk. N. Hwy. 377, Argyle – Double Oak Officer provided cover to Argyle officer, with a traffic stop, as they were arresting a wanted person that had been in a vehicle with three other males.

10-31-2014  8:07 a.m. – Computer Crime – 200 blk. Valley View Trail, Double Oak – A resident reported that their home computer had been hacked and frozen by an unknown person.

 10-31-2014  11:39 a.m. – Gun Shot – 300 blk. Meadowknoll, Double Oak – A resident reported the sound of a gunshot.  Upon further investigation it is believed that the loud sound was caused by the resetting of an electrical transformer by a work crew.

 10-31-2014 3:17 p.m. – Road Hazard – 7700 blk. FM407, Bartonville – Officer responded to help Bartonville Police with removal of a hay bale from the roadway.

 10-31-2014  6:04 p.m. – Runaway – 100 blk. Copper Canyon Rd., Copper Canyon – Officer assisted Denton County Deputy with a young person that had jumped out of his parents car and was trying to run away.  Subject calmed down and agreed to go home to his parents.
