On Tuesday 12-15-2015 at approximately 4:48 p.m. Double Oak Police Officers responded to a family disturbance call in the 100 blk. of Thornhill Circle, Double Oak, TX. Upon arrival officers were met outside the residence by a complainant who explained that she and her husband had been involved in a verbal disturbance that ended with shots being fired. Her husband is also alleged to have thrown, damaged and destroyed property within the home. The dispute escalated to the point that the husband allegedly picked up a .45 caliber handgun and discharged multiple bullets, inside the residence, while his spouse was present.
Arriving officers established a perimeter and attempted multiple times to make telephone and verbal contact with the male suspect. Suspect did not respond and was believed to have locked himself in a back room of the residence. Denton County Sheriff’s Department tactical team officers and negotiators made contact with the suspect and he voluntarily exited the bedroom and was taken into custody.
Double Oak Police have recovered a .45 caliber pistol, multiple shell casings and documented significant property damage within the residence.
Scott Bradley Angel, male, 42 years of age, was arrested for Deadly Conduct-Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and transported to the Denton County Jail.
